Got my copy of Shy Pursuit by Spinto Band the other day, and have not stopped listening. I’ve been particularly amazed by a song which is sung by somebody you almost never hear singing in their band. Joey Hobson! It’s so damn good. Please listen to this song, and then buy the rest of this album!

Also, i just realized that my music source in the last post was from Spotify. I like this new update, pretty cool. With that being said, the next song is my band, JellyBones. All i’m going to say is that our upcoming album You Better Be, released July 3, is a thousand times better than this album. check it out!

I’m pretty new to Alabama Shakes, but they are getting some pretty solid play time over here. Their soulful melodies, dirty guitar riffs, soothing piano, and poppy drum beats make you want to lay down in a hammock out in the country.
I have a feeling we’ll be hearing more from these guys

I have not been able to stop listening to Maps & Atlases newest album. It comes out April 16th, but I found a leaked copy online a week ago. Catchy guitar riffs, a nostalgically cool voice, pretty harmonies, and spastic yet poppy drum beats - this is what you can expect throughout the album, Beware and Be Grateful.
ROAR. I am always listening to ROAR. I sincerely cannot stop listening.
Every song, ever the somber ones, have such a chaotic and spastic inner lining that just makes me excited. The fuzzy pop habitat that Owen Evans seems to musically live in, is one damn good place to be. Please check out his new EP, I’m Not Here To Make Friends, at: http://quoteunquoterecords.com/qur053.htm
PLEASE check out Brass Bed! This is easily one of the hardest working bands I know.
Their songs have a warm summer’s feel to them, with enough pop to bob your head and enough dirty riffs to make you spit on your neighbor’s shoe.
From start to finish, the lyrics will make you happy. They’ll confuse you. They’ll impress you.
Get excited for their upcoming album, The Secret Will Keep You, coming Fall 2012
I’ve known Juston since early 2006, when I first pal’d up with Dr. Dog (My FAVORITE BAND) - and I’ve always been super impressed with his drumming skills, assuming that was the only instrument he played.
Juston left Dr. Dog in early 2010, and reached out to me shortly after. He told me he had a solo project going and needed some help promoting, like I did back in the ‘DogDays. I said yes instantly, but immediately followed by thoughts of “wait, you play guitar? you SING? you play bass and keys on these records too?!”
This fella is one of the most talented and creative musicians I know, and am proud to say I know him (as well as the rest of his current lineup).
Do yourself a favor, don’t just listen to this song…check out the rest of this album at:

Grizzly Bear, Department of Eagles, and now solo songs from Daniel Rossen. These are three names that get PLENTY of solid play on my iPod. Daniel Rossen has such a cool voice. I don’t even know how to explain it, shit just blows my mind.
Check out the rest of his new EP, as well as his full band albums
